The Stop the Bleed Course is designed for individuals who have little or no medical training but who may be called upon as immediate responders to provide initial trauma care and bleeding control to a victim of traumatic injury prior to the arrival of emergency medical services (EMS) Skills covered include recognizing life threatening bleeding, compression, wound packing, tourniquet application and creating a personal trauma response kit.
Average class time is 4 hours and includes hands on skills practice. Cost is $65 per student and includes a certificate of completion from the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
